'AMA OF IJIKA' FIRST PUBLISHED IN LUNCHEON
These images were made as a part of my ongoing extensive travels to Japan photographing the country and its people. Japans Ama divers are a mysterious and unique tradition of female sea-divers dating back 1000s of years. This series focuses upon the everyday nature of the dives through the eyes of a young couple, recently moved to Ijika who are learning the traditional way of life and are likely to be the last generation of this kind.
A sample of this series was published by Luncheon Magazine.
A larger edit of both winter and summer experiences to be published soon.
